Car model and ECU type: 320d bmw with bosch edc17cp02 ecu

 

Purpose: Read and write ECU and start the car

 

ECU tuning tool: ktm bench 1.20

 

Problem:

I connected power can and gpt pins on the corresponding numbers made a read but selected flash from the

(71) Bosch med17 tc1766 flash. It crashed during erasing and writing around 7 percent. No longer able to detect through gpt pins i opened ecu soldered boot wire onto pad inside and if i select (53) tc1766 micro 1504kb i can read and write successful but car will not start has lots of faults on the dash.

How to solve?

When you failwrite file you erase 18000-1BFFF area. It's BOSCH service loader area.

You must select 53 module, use write function and select off optimization write, select write all, include, service areas and [Other] option in ECU selection and not correct checksums.

 

You must select raw write. Not MEDC17. And your reading is enought to recover your ecu.

Read your file after crash and check 18000-1BFFF area.

You must read your bad file in BOOT mode. And compare it with your original read.

 Mercedes MB SD C4 Plus Connect Compact 4. I have several problems.

Although I already bought a Windows 10 key to run the system.

 

I start the Config Assist and try to read out the hardware ID as prescribed.

 

It doesn't find anything and runs for hours with no result.

Uninstall all hidden virtual drivers. I Had the same problem.

We connected a newer car to diag and xentry always shows Data is incorrect. Older cars works well, because it opens in DAS.

Ktag clones the old edc17c41 BMW F10 to the new ECU

 Have edc17c41 bmw f10 with old ecu is dead, d.. and I buy a ecu with the same part number. i can read with ktag in gpt , try multiple times.. no luck. The next plan is to clone from the old to the new.

 

What to do:

If the old ECU is okay, with KTAG, do a full backup of the old ecu in GPT.

Then restore to the new one.

 

If the old ECU is dead, must read from CAS ISN and written in ecu ISN.

CAS 4 READ WIT HEXTAG.

or read eeprom from CAS, read flash and eeprom from ecu. and send to someone who can send it to you and will give you what you need to write in ecu.

 

If the car won't start, and have error 276F00 electronic immobiliser pretection against tampering, no authentic response received. my car is manual, the donnor car is automatic.

 

--- You need to decrypt cas for get proper isn - need read a key at least ( proper soft existing) or if U get some locksmith bmw equipment - make a decryption by key

 

It is coding (manual OR AUTOMATIC) issue.

Cas4 is crypted - password ISN from ECU(not available) or key - without This - no do anything - no sense.

 

If you have the key, that's good, please use cgdi BMW or vvdi prog. You need to read ISN from CAS by CGDI by OBD ( look like it has to be supported) ( you got FUll BACKUP UR CAS, if no make it, Plus do it with ,at least, battery charger):

 

Put cas back to vehicle, connect power supply(charger) and press read ISN from cas(key inside of vehicle or inside of cgdi), ignition turned ON.

 

I did it for cas3+ and never did it for CAS4 but by CGDI, it is supported.

Disregard previous info - as I said - i never met CAS4 and Ur case - it is good -CAS not crypted.
Previous to get ISN from crypted Cas.
new Scenario:

as Change ISN in DME need physical connection for my equipment an i do not know checksum algo i made Vin Correction and ISN correction - BUT NEED TO CHECKSUM eeprom before writing.(Ktag - if support(automatic correction))

I have change ISN in Ur CAS - as U got full backup - U can write CAS4 eeprom to cas and try with ORI ECU eeprom file

If car start U need to programm ECU by ista - as U got manual tranny it is more easy about EGS ISN (not needed to reset)
and U need injector coding too.(numbers from top of it)

 This article put together the test reports of many ECU tunners to tell us that no clone ECU programmer like kess, ktag, Fgtech, mpps 21, and others... will brick ECU. This is a fact, not a false advertisement.

 

Review 1.

About tools, ktag and kess clones, galletto 4, kwp2000, mpps18, none of it bricked anything that went through my hands. You will brick, when sw/hw mismatch will occur. But with bdm, most of them can be easily repaired.

Some' said that ktm bench messes around the edc17... well, did it? I've never had one bricked. Up to now

BTW, I've had an edc16c34 Ford, cloned with Flex, by a friend of mine. Was a mess inside that flash. Solved it by bdm, with ktag clone.

Up to now, fvdi 2014 did not brick any...

Don't bother with mpps v21 they die after about 10 writes so stay away. mpps v18 eu clone is a very good tool i own one amazing on edc15 an edc16 it loves them. as for kess v2 clone be very careful some china ones are shit
some are ok but all of them need a rework don't let anyone tell you different and it will be a very good tool after a rework never had a problem with mine and don't bother using ksuite 2.53 or 2.70 onwards there all bull shit there not new versions
just number changes stick to 2.23 thats the most stable for kess 5.017 and ktag 7.020 and look for the rework guide on the kess and ktag also change the sd card the china kess and ktag cards are known to be unstable cheap shit
i speak from experience hope that helps

Sorry about that, The software of win10 system does not support hhtwin. You need to use the Benz software of win7 32bit system to test hhtwin.

What is the charging standard of Tech2Win and how can I obtain it?

 This article is to answer this question: what is this Tec2Win where do you get it and how much? Is it the same as a Tec2 for our cars?

 

Tech2Win is an emulation of the Tech 2 scan tool that runs on a Windows PC. Tech2Win does work/support the Chevy SSR. Tech2Win is software available from acdelcotds.com (and GM) for a subscription fee (as outlined in the included picture).

Tech2Win (and other offerings from ACDelco TDS/GM) uses a GM MDI (Multi Diagnostic Interface), GM MDI 2 or other compatible J2534 automotive programming device to access the car via the OBD-II port. "GDS 2" is diagnostic software for later model GM vehicle. The Tech 2 (and Tech2Win as well) only works with vehicles up to 2013 (as the model year gets closer to 2013 the support for specific car models in Tech2Win falls off as it becomes supported in the GDS 2 software). GDS 2 software tends work with all of the "recent" vehicles from GM.

You can also use another offering from ACDelco TDS/GM called SPS (Service Programming System) which allows you to use one of the access tools mentioned above to update the software calibration files for the various subsystem in your vehicle. It costs $40 for 24-month subscription that gives you access to updates for those calibration files. The average car owner would not necessarily be the target audience for the SPS offering, but as I've found with my 2014 Chevy Caprice PPV project car, it can be very helpful in updating some on the car's configuration settings (there's a video on my YouTube channel that shows the steps necessary to update the body control module on my Caprice PPV to activate some features to make the car more like a regular passenger car).

There are "tools - J2534 tools" out there that claim to ship with "GDS 2" and "Tech2Win" but they are hacked versions of the software and they are not always that reliable and of course there are the legal issues about that software not being properly obtained via a valid license/subscription.
