ktm bench 1.20 tune 320d BMW with Bosch edc17cp02 ecu

Car model and ECU type: 320d bmw with bosch edc17cp02 ecu

 

Purpose: Read and write ECU and start the car

 

ECU tuning tool: ktm bench 1.20

 

Problem:

I connected power can and gpt pins on the corresponding numbers made a read but selected flash from the

(71) Bosch med17 tc1766 flash. It crashed during erasing and writing around 7 percent. No longer able to detect through gpt pins i opened ecu soldered boot wire onto pad inside and if i select (53) tc1766 micro 1504kb i can read and write successful but car will not start has lots of faults on the dash.

How to solve?

When you failwrite file you erase 18000-1BFFF area. It's BOSCH service loader area.

You must select 53 module, use write function and select off optimization write, select write all, include, service areas and [Other] option in ECU selection and not correct checksums.

 

You must select raw write. Not MEDC17. And your reading is enought to recover your ecu.

Read your file after crash and check 18000-1BFFF area.

You must read your bad file in BOOT mode. And compare it with your original read.

What tools do Bosch edc17c84 need to read data?

 Question: What ECU Programmer to read bosch edc17c84?  can clone tools like "ktm bench" do this? or that of the original tool  "KTAG , ECT..."

Solved! KTM Bench identified Bosch MEDC17 ECU failure



One user feedback: I have KTM Bench ECU programmer to test with different ecms

And always with the same message "Bosch MEDC17 (TC1724 /1728 / 1767 / 1782 / 1784 / 1797) Flash identification, entering reprogramming mode failure"

I have tested the same connection with another j2534 interface

And can connect with ecm obviously can't read

the ecu type is 1766.

The cpu is tc1767,but you connect as tc1766,so your connection is wrong.

DIRECT CONNECTION WITH TRASDATA SYSTEM

In order to perform the Trasdata direct connection with free wirings it will be necessary to

connect the POL4 pin and DSDO signal too. DSDO is the yellow wire on BDM connector of the

universal adapter F34TD003.

In order to perform the NewGenius free wires connection you need the F32GN037

or F32GN037-B cable. BLUE wire = CNF1, GREY wire = BOOT

DIMA CONNECTION

Connect the 2 boot pin to the programming lay-by pin n. 10. Moreover it is necessary to

solder a third wire that must be connected to the CNF1 clamp on the DIMA.

EDC17C46 read and write, any tested ECU programmer via OBD?

Purpose: clone an edc17c46 ECU

Ideal ECU programmer: Clone at cheap price

Review 1.
KTM bench ECU edc17c46 read and write flash + EEPROM ok

Ktag. 7.020 clone no Problem… Read (Backup) and write.

Review 3.
Kess genuine read VR / Write no problem
Kess clone no read / Write no problem, file found online or from friends.

Mpps = shit
Ktag read and write very well also clone

Fgtech original is ok

Review 6. Kess and KTAG v2.23 are working good with edc17c46. VR doesn’t work.

Question: just looking for EU Ktag or Kess now and see most of the website have China one.
purple PCB is the one I should look for right?
