when you lift pin 55 on Carprog, How to do?

Now I have succeeded in one Carprog unit, with help of a sewing needle. It will go wrong because I get up two pin, and then I can not solder back the faulty pin.

Now I have managed to get another one ready for easy flash with J-Link adapter.
But I will make another one to experiment with, and rebuild to full function or better.

J-Link adapter

Below is some useful tips from forum bros. Wish this helps

*** autocargo says:
... find scrap electronics board and practice on that. I use thin syringe needle and magnifying glass.. No point practicing on your working CarProgs....

Use thin solder tip or hot air off course...forgot to say... but I don't think you would be doing it without applying heat...

*** demelec says:
needle under leg needed lifting and heat with hot air, then very carefully lift only a little just so it separates from pcb solder

Soldering iron you have to use very thin tip and just touch very end of leg to remove ( solder at very end so not actually touching leg) then you can lift with needle
And always use solder flux
Flux is the main key to easy working

Thx button would be nice.

Free for everybody!!! No more payment for this!

TRY ON YOUR OWN RISK

Part 1 - KTAG hardware rework
Ktag before rework:

KTAG hardware rework solution:

Transistors:
k6b = BC817-25 SOT-23 (in some originals)

All capacitors should be replaced with the exact same one but new

Part 2 - Kess v2 hardware rework
Kess v2 pcb before rework:

KESS V2 rework solution:

Transistors to use :
BCR112
MMUN2113
BC817

Murata filters:
NFE61PT472C1H9L (connect ground for all of them)

Capacitors:
1uF - 35V
220uF - 10V
10uF - 16V tantalum

Fill up all holes from side to side
Use photo as reference if others components are different

From sally:
KESS V2 is a ECU programming tool that is perfect for OBD use, while KTag is perfect for Jtag, BDM and all the Boot application (tricore and ST10).
With KESS V2 you programming directly through the OBD port of the vehicle, while with Ktag (Ktag 2.13) you need to take apart the ECU and open it, after you can make the read/write operation.
Many ECU has the advantage that can be read and write from OBD port (so KESS V2 is perfect), but there are lot ECU that need to disassemble from the car and open and this is the case for all the ECU that need to be programmed with Jtag, BDM and Boot protocols, so KTAG is needed.

How to solve Kess V2 v4.036 connection issues fixed

It’s a customer solution of how to fix KESS V2 firmware v4.036 master communication/connection issues; that is the computer cannot recognize ktag.

Error message in Kess v2 firmware v4.036 Ksuite v2.22:

connection not established

Customer solution:

I took this UL46 USB protection chip off my old Ktag board.

ktag-kess-v2-UL46-USB-protection-chip-1

ktag-kess-v2-UL46-USB-protection-chip-2

this is the UL46 USB protection chip

(if you don’t have this chip, go to the kess v2 vendor for it)

Then Kess v2 v4.036 is detected on usb :) Everything is ok so far.

How to solve Carprog v8.21 Unit CRC error (delete LIB file)

Here is a customer solution of Carprog full v8.21 with the following error message:
Unit CRC error: Delete LIB file and make UPDATE -> INTERNET
A1 OBDII adapter (resistor must be rem)
carprog-unit-CRC-error

Notice:
TRY ON YOUR OWN RISK!

there are two files software (carprog_v15x.exe) and device LIB file (i.e.
070925CAR001XAB1.lib)
you should copy both files to your laptop after update compleate!!! (the same directory)

or try this:
delete LIB file (located an your software directory)
connect update server to restore it

this will solve your problem if LIB file is corrupted

i.e.
I have two PC`s
1. desktop PC that have internet connection
2. laptop PC on which I`m working

to update device + software I`m use desktop PC
after update compleate LIB file stored on desktop PC is updated to, but on Laptop still not
so if you will connect your Carprog device to laptop without copying LIB file from desktop PC this causes some conflicts

User feedback on solutions above:
I was getting "unit crc error" when working with HC12 MCU. I also work on two different computers...
I deleted the .lib file and updated and it fixed my problem.
